End of Life for Basler ace cameras with ICX274, ICX424 and ICX445 sensors
Reason for discontinuation:
Basler cameras with CCD sensors from Sony have been in the market for many years and formed
the base for various successful cameras our customers could always rely on. During the last years,
CMOS technology has made extensive progress and has achieved a very advanced level. Basler
has a broad camera portfolio with CMOS sensors and provides highly suitable replacements for the
discontinued CCD sensor based cameras.
Sony discontinued their CCD sensor family in 2015 and stopped their CCD sensor production. Thus
the availability of cameras with the affected sensors is dependent on the remaining available
volumes of each sensor model. For ICX274 mono, ICX424 mono, ICX445 mono and ICX445 color
this reached a critical amount and we discontinue the affected camera models now.
We understand the challenges this discontinuation causes and will do our best to guide our
customers along the way finding appropriate camera models for CCD replacement.
