The 58 series encoders are characterized by their compact design; they areoptical and magnetic sensing. They are available in various mechanical versions:protruding shaft, hollow shaft, through shaft up to 15 mm.Standard resolution: 8192 x 4096 for multi-turn models and 8192 x 1 for single-turn models . High resolution models available, up to 18 bits per revolution and up to 256,000 rpm.The multiturn versions do not use batteries or other systems for counting the numberof revolutions but a series of further disks mechanically related to each other.Available interfaces: parallel, analog, SSI, Profibus, CANopen, Device Net, versionsEthernet based such as Profinet, Ethernet IP, PowerLink, EtherCAT®, Sercos III, Drive-Cliqand IO-Link.Ethernet BUS encoders are connected via M12 connectors which canbe supplied with axial and lateral connectors.Redundant magnetic sensing multiturn encoders withdual SSI interface are also available . Useful for connecting the encoder to two separate systems, wherea backup system is needed. Although not a certified product, but thanks toits MTBF value for each individual channel, it can also be used forsafety applications
