This actuating solenoid has an everyday application that goes unnoticed by the general public. At restaurants, fast food places and grocery store delis, there’s likely in place a beverage dispenser for soda, juices and water. Kendrion was able to create a solenoid that goes into the dispenser and has mounting features built directly into the part. What problem caused the customer to approach Kendrion? The old existing solution was overheating and causing one mishap after another. From the initial overview through the design process, we were able to create an actuating solenoid with high temperature material and the possibility to directly mount to a printed circuit board (PCB) using integral mounting features in the mold.
