At Kendrion, we were able to help increase efficiency at distribution centers. We created the Linear Sorting Solenoid (LSS); a bi-stable latching solenoid for package sorting applications. The highlight: speed. The solenoid has a switching time of 16 milliseconds at a stroke of 5/8 of an inch. Speed is a driving factor to sort more boxes in a shorter period of time to get packages to customers quickly. It has replaced the pneumatic assemblies and systems allowing the customer to get rid of the entire pneumatic infrastructure. Another huge aspect of this LSS is the 10 million cycle life. Speed and long-term duration: two critical aspects of making everyone happy.
